Opera Lively is engaged in detailed coverage of George Benjamin's phenomenal contemporary masterpiece Written on Skin
. This is our most intensive effort to date on the topic of contemporary opera, and it is well deserved given the absolutely unique high quality of this piece.
Continuing our series of articles on this opera that is arguably the best one composed in the last several decades, we'll be publishing short interviews with some of the young singers who performed it at Tanglewood in the US premiere of the piece, conducted by George Benjamin himself.

We are in the planning stages of writing a guidebook to this opera, a project that has the endorsement of the composer. Once this book is published, many fragments of our coverage including the interviews below, will appear in print.
