In anticipation of North Carolina Opera's upcoming Wagner concert on January 27 at 3 PM in Raleigh (Meymandi Concert Hall - tickets [here]), Opera Lively has interviewed mezzo-soprano Elizabeth Bishop, a regular at the Metropolitan Opera and Washington National Opera, who will be singing Sieglinde alongside famed Met tenor Jay Hunter Morris' Siegmund (read his interview with us [here]) in this concert performance of the first act of Die Walküre, supplemented with excerpts from other Wagner operas, in which Ms. Bishop will be singing the "Liebestod" from Tristan und Isolde. [Opera Lively interview # 74]

This will be the first time that Wagner's music will be featured live in the North Carolina Triangle, and is an occasion not to be missed! Dear readers, do rush to buy your tickets because the event is almost sold out.
