    Mendelssohn's Elijah

Time for a nice new frsh plug

In March, I will be in the choir singing Mendelssohn's Elijah

The conductor for the second concert is Edward Gardner who is the current musical director of the ENO, which, I think you'll agree, is right double proper flash

Sunday 16th March @ Blackheath Halls (Elijah sung by Grant Doyle)
Saturday 22nd March @ St. John's Smith Square, Westminster (Elijah sung by Matthew Rose - in bold for sospiro's benefit )

Full details are in this link
    http://www.trinitylaban.ac.uk/blackh...g-performances

If anyone fancies catching this then please be aware these WILL sell out. The Blackheath one in particular will have close to 200 performers (3 choirs and and orchestra) so just friends and family will soon use up the 300 capacity

If anyone does come along then please let me know & I'll grab you a drink in the bar after

Coming to Sutton in May - Fiddler on the Roof - with Superfly as Lasar Wolf

Oh what a shame, I won't be able to see either of them!! I've seen Grant Doyle live and I like him very much & I adore Matthew!

    Maybe one day Annie

I'll be in the Blackheath summer opera again which has also now been announced. Rossini's Le Comte Ory

More details to follow but I would be stunned if Matthew hasn't already earmarked a juicy part for himself

Are you on Twitter? Matthew (@roseandfriends) is tweeting about Elijah rehearsals. Very jealous!

Really? No, I'm not but I have friends that are. Thanks Annie, I'll track down what he's been saying.

I'm yet to see him at rehearsals though. Although, that's not much of a shock as he doesn't really need to have to sit through with the chorus just yet. Rehearsals tonight so I'll keep an eye out for him.

Pleased he's looking forward to it though So am I (although parts of it are really difficult!!)

Just saw a live performance of Elijah at Hill Auditorium on the University of Michigan campus a couple weeks ago. It was fantastic!
