Yup, there's something definitely wrong with me.

If I was a car and you took me to the mechanics, they would kick my tyres, whistle through their teeth and say something along the lines of

of course I can fix it but it will be expensive...

    or

I can't really say anything until I open her up and take a good look inside her but it could be like opening a can of worms...

Oh man I want this sooooo much. I have been looking at various scenes of this production of Die Walküre (youtube) and I really love the designs. The idea of it being set in some kind of future works really well from what I've seen. Set designs which don't focus so much on modern/20th century realism work well for me when it comes to the Ring (the copenhagen ring is not very much to my taste).

The two things I need in the near future: That Ring DVD and the recent Met Ring DVD.

Wow, what a striking image! If one didn't know better, they might thing this guy (Lenny) is beating something to death.

    *Herbie

But I agree, he does look a bit like Lenny here.

Oh, whoops. All I had to do is read the fine print. No I think Herbie is more likely to strike an ominous pose than Lenny.

Anyways, just purchased my 4th Fidelio DVD this am (ha! and one is still in the mail, I must be nuts):

Sad news. That's Rentertainment, a great local video rental store on the University of Illinois campus (lots of hard-to-find foreign films, film noir, anime, concerts, etc.) is closing after thirty years. On the plus side, I picked up the following at their closeout sale for $6 each.

Did they get a real dragon too? Because that's my biggest issue with this drama. If they used a real one I would buy the dvd.
