Nice deal at my local music store, Dearborn Music, used for $9.99 (2x that shipped from Amazon):
Necessities of life: food, water, air, shelter, and opera.

    Wow, Oresteia!

By the way, my Baroque-loving friend, I *finally* finished transcribing Vivica Genaux's second interview with Opera Lively, and oh boy, you will *love* this one. It is really must-read for all Baroque lovers. She displays such knowledge of the ins and outs of singing and recording Baroque opera! It's been sent to her agent yesterday so hopefully in a few more days we'll get it back with her corrections/approval and it will get published.

Where, oh where, did you find a copy of Oresteia?? I just found a copy only available for downloading on iTunes, and thought myself quite clever. This has got to be the only other available recording and way out of print.

I hadn't bought anything in months, but Nat's purchase of Oresteia inspired me...

There has evidently been a change in release dates for Forza; according to Presto Classical, it will now be available beginning 15 April. But as the old cliché goes, anything worth having is worth waiting for.
Now, I would be very obliged if Herr Bachler would change his mind about releasing the Bayerische Staatsoper’s Il Trovatore with the Kaufmann-Harteros dream team on video . . .

I couldn't resist. It's ridiculous because I've seen them all.

My haul at Dearborn Music today with their 20% off sale. I went in for the Verdi and spied the Puccini and even though I have a different Domingo Tosca, grabbed this one anyway for $8 sale price. Jerusalem was $12 sale price. EDIT: These are used items but in excellent condition. Still a great bargain.
