Pretty much I only buy from them when I get a B&N gift card from someone for my birthday or something, and of course I thank the giver, but think to myself "darn, why couldn't he/she give me an Amazon gift card instead?"
But you could use that B&N gift card to buy books about opera.

Which would also be overpriced compared to Amazon

Pre-order on RLD, super low Amazon Prime price locked in.......
A secret about pre-order, when item first appears for sale at Amazon @4 weeks before actual release you sometimes can lock in very low price that goes much higher inside of 3 weeks before release. RLD locked in $20 Amazon prime now selling for $26 for instance

I have complained bitterly about outrageous new higher shipping fees for CD/DVD at Amazon (not prime service) so I also am shopping more on Ebay and other sources

But the Prime service with its modest annual fee more than pays for itself. I buy other stuff from Amazon as well, such as household items and even groceries, so, the first time one buys a bulkier item, it already offsets the Prime membership fee.

If you only use Amazon to buy CDs and DVDs, then maybe you shouldn't purchase a Prime membership, but if you use it for a bunch of stuff like I do, the Prime makes a lot of sense (and you even get free streaming movies).

[Disclosure - Almaviva doesn't own any stock from the Amazon conglomerate; he's just a satisfied customer]

BTW, you could combine Callas and Armida. IMO Callas's Armida is one of the best ever recorded of this opera. It should be available in all of the standard online places including iTunes and Spotify.

Any Callas purchase gets my strongest approval.........Hoffman I salute you sir

The Callas Armida has godlike bel canto technique, for those not familiar check out incredible live 1952 performance, the final climax run starting at 5:25 is electrifying!

I wasn't paying attention to which operas were included on the Callas compilation set, and forgot Armida was included when I bought the I Solisti Veneti recording. So, now I have two different versions to enjoy and compare and contrast!

Thanks, also, DA, for including the clip -

Not only pre-ordered JK's Verdi album, but this gem as well:

Not only favorite tenor, but one of my favorite sopranos, mezzos, and basses!! Apparently, this was released in Europe back in spring, but will only become available on this side of the pond in early September.

Good catch. I pre-ordered this album as well, which, as you say, won't be out until September 3rd.

There will be a DVD/Blu-ray release as well. With that star-studded, photogenic lineup, smart choice!
