This isn't really opera but Philippe Jaroussky performs some of the songs.

I will be interested in what King Roger is like. I am not familiar with the piece but understand that Kasper Holten is directing it at ROH in a couple of years.

You can watch it complete in youtube:

The production is really divorced from the score and the libretto, regrettably. But you can get a good idea of the music.

The music is awesome. I saw the version above on YouTube and decided to buy a DVD.

Thanks. Same is valid for all other members, any help is appreciated.
Good to know, we want to help the cause.....

For some reason Virgin label does not release blu ray format so DVD is the only way to go for those two April 12 sets

I think the new Christie Poppea will be much better than the Haim........I ended up selling that despite my admiration of Danni, didn't care for the updated production or the Nero

What would put me off this one is Ludovic Tézier - has all the fine acting skills of a sea cucumber. But the set looks cute.

I cancelled my order after further youtube review, not because of Tezier but too many long distance shots and singers spread out too far, does not seem intimate, not for me.....I have too many great versions already that need my attention.

    Sorry for the false alarm

One... Songs of the Auvergne, Two... Lulu's , and a Juan...

One song CD "the hills are alive" nice. The next two operas, men around her drop dead like flies - Lulu and her BFF get Jack-ed in the end. The last opera, someone's going to hell... each, to some of the most sublime music ever written...

I had the same reaction to his Albert on the Werther DVD.
