With Ermione I feel like I've just discovered Rossini. I'm going to listen to Otello tomorrow.
Oh, that looks really good! Great cast! But Opera Rara recordings are so pricey... The ones I have looked at most recently are running $75 each.

That's quite a line-up - what are you planning to do this afternoon?

It's only 8 April, and I've already considerably exceeded my budget. I've even started buying used stuff now off Amazon. Oh dear. I hope this doesn't mean that I need to sign myself into rehab..

I stayed away from Amazon . . . then went to my local used book/CD store instead!

The Tamerlano is pre-ordered but it should be out this month. The others are on their way from across the sea.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. You will waste your time and you will annoy the pig.

I've had my eye on that Rosenkavalier - I have the Haitink and am not wild about it. I'll be interested to hear what you think about it.

Oh yeah, I forgot (to the point I was surprised to find it in my mailbox this morning..):

I've got that on order too and I am so excited! I think Tamerlano might be my second favourite Handel opera.
