Hmm, Martin Oro in Alessandro and Sarah Connolly in Saul. That pretty much sells it to me.

Got to check Amazon's American branch to see if I can pre-order! (My pre-ordered Carmen CD with dem Jonas should be available in a couple of weeks.)

Nobody will fall for the cover, we've all seen her legs on YouTube already. They seem very nutritious.

I heard that they'll be shipping first on 3 September the defective copies they want to unload, and then the good stuff is coming on 25 September, nardynardynahnah.

Decca is finally releasing the DVD of Humperdinck's Die Königskinder from the Zürich Opera with Kaufmann as the Prince.

Unfortunately, the early September release date doesn't seem to apply to this side of the pond. I checked Amazon, and there was no sign of it. I will certainly keep looking, though.

It appears to be a modern day pasticcio recreated by Frédéric Delaméa including arias by Giacomelli, Broschi and Hasse based on a printed libretto of a 1742 Vienna performance recently discovered in the Library of Congress.

Wow, we've been waiting long enough for this.

MET Ring blu ray box artwork now posted at Amazon USA, still showing "infamous" release date of 9/11/2012

Blu Ray only $10 more than DVD set, the choice is obvious......

Great!! It's scheduled for October 30.
But what shall I do now with the DVDs?
I'm afraid the next months are going to be expensive, two Rings, the McVicar Meistersinger, Enchanted Island, Tosca, a new Figaro, Grande macabre etc. etc.....

    Sell them on eBay!
I have the DVDs, they're really decent in terms of image and sound, I'm not sure I'd buy the blu-ray, but this should actually be relatively easy to sell, I think, since it is a very good Ring overall.
