Thank you for your post, and I could not get the link to work. Something about "right of viewership".
However, HERE is a New York Times article of the production.

Sad. One of the best at personenregie. His Bayreuth Walküre remains, after all these years, my favorite production of my favorite opera.

I'm showing a clip from his more recent La Scala Tristan in a class next week. Now it will be something of a small tribute.

We've been contacted and asked to help promoting this Rock Opera in tribute to Bob Dylan, so I'll be placing two of their banners here and a link to one of the songs.

Here is a link to the song "Señor" : https://soundcloud.com/divadelai/se-...f-yankee-power

After that Il Trovatore in Munich back in July, Mr. Py should be accustomed to boos.

    NZ Opera report card:

A+ for extremely cute front page (scroll down for extra cuteness)

C- for yawn-enducing season. Needs to employ imagination and inventiveness in planning of future seasons. Could do much better.

I am planning a trip to Paris next month with a friend and was thinking the Bastille Aida might be a good first opera for this aggressively non-opera/theater goer. It sounds so bad it's really tempting!

    Awesome graphics!!

Too bad the 2014 season itself isn't as imaginative or interesting as their website..

Awesome web designer. Lousy artistic director.

Well at least they're doing *one* little-known opera.

By the way, who wrote this Noea Zpr? Janacek?

It wouldn't hurt to make one of the three works something other than another of Opera's Greatest Hits. It wouldn't even need to be something radically different -- maybe one of Verdi's early operas, or one by a verismo composer other than Puccini (or the usual Cav/Pag pairing).

Who is now on his way to Seattle. Watch out for Seattle Opera, the utterly predictable warhorses edition.

    BREAKING NEWS!

I have recently heard from Mr Berutti. It has transpired that rather than persue a harasment case (against yours truly) it was more economical to make a reprint of his catalogue.

P.S. I have not really been harassing Signor Berutti
P.P.S. He really did say he will reprint.
P.P.P.S. AGAIN this is nothing to do with me.
P.P.P.P.S. You should buy all of this catalogue anyway. REALLY. (I don't earn any commission)

According to a message I received from the local opera company here, 28 October-3 November is National Opera Week in this neck of the woods. I shall celebrate appropriately by listening to some of my favorites.
