    Both Pavarotti and Cossotto are below what reasonably could be expected here.

    To listen to a good Cossotto in the role, this is a much better choice, a live recording from Buenos Aires, in 1967:

    I have purchased all 5-6 of these lesser known Verdi early operas in the Gardelli/Phillips series, recorded in 1970s with best singers in the business..........I don't know why I waited so long these are great!
