Well, anyway, I have a concert to attend tonight, with Anthony Roth Costanzo and the Brussels Chamber Orchestra, so even if the link works, I'll have to pass. What do I think of that Ermione? I LOVE IT!!! Buy, buy, buy! It's sublime! Ana Caterina Antonacci is spectacular on this DVD! And this is my favorite Rossini opera.

    Great, will buy then.

The first act has just ended.
Very cool the mute cinema scenography.
It's apparent this was one of his first Operas.

SO HOW'S THAT NOBODY TOLD ME THERE IS RECORDING WHERE CARRERAS SINGS NORMA AND NOT AS FLAVIO

He and Baltsa sing act I duet here. It's not something that makes you think he would be greatest Polline ever but very precious thing to hear nevertheless.

On the side note, the cover qualifies to the other, recently-started thread concerning covers.

Yes, I wish there had been a complete recording of Norma with Carreras as Pollione. And Baltsa would have been a good Adalgisa . . .

He started to record the role with Karajan. Norma was Katia Ricciarelli and Adalgisa, Mirella Freni. It was never going to be.

That is good, Conan, that is good. It's great they didn't make Manrico sound too far away in Miserere final bars before coda where all sing together, on most of recordings they do and it's like muting first violins in symphony where they play the theme.

What a shame! I know I would have bought such a recording.

Also, the cover art is... intriguing.
