    Even the Met Opera Radio?
I'm listening to it right now, and the display shows:
    Tosca: Vissi d'arte
    by...
    Giuseppe Verdi!!!!
"J'ai dit qu'il ne suffisait pas d'entendre la musique, mais qu'il fallait encore la voir" (Stravinsky)

There's a banner on top of Parterre where Carnegie Hall is currently advertising a concert of *La* Grand Macabre. Not as bad as Verdi's Tosca though, I will admit.

No doubt this is because 2013 is the bicentennial of Verdi's birthday. 2058 will see the playing of various works such as Puccini's La traviata, etc.

Seeing Olga Borodina's name listed among cast members in the Vienna State Opera's production of Aida in the upcoming season stirred a memory. Wasn't she rather unceremoniously sent packing by this house several years ago for what they labelled unprofessional conduct? Does anyone else recall this? If so, it appears she's patched things up with them again.

This kind of things is quite usual between theaters and singers over the years. In any case, Ms. Borodina's voice, still relatively young at almost 50, is no longer what once was.

Listen out carefully and not only will you hear the title of Joyce DiDonato's new compilation album, but also that an OL member was one of the nominators of the winning title. (Unfortunately not the first though, so doesn't get his name on the CD liner notes)

No wonder so many people love her. In addition to a beautiful voice, this lady has loads of personality!

Don't tell her, but she's going to be my next ex-wife.

Mahogany Opera's production of Britten's Church Parables opens in St Petersburg on 04 June with a special performance of Curlew River at the Hermitage Theatre.

It's very difficult for me to find classical music/opera in local stores. I have been using online stores to order DVDs and CDs, but it would be nice to be able to browse in an actual brick and mortar store once in awhile.
Anyway, I am going to check out some of them in the city and see what they have.

I know you live in NY, so you probably know what is available, but have you tried J&R - a friend of mine swears by it, though I only know it through their electronics ads in the NYT:
