    I've seen Ryan McKinny sing four roles this year: Donner/Das Rheingold, Gunther/Götterdämmerung, Kurwenal/Tristan und Isolde and Figaro/Le Nozze di Figaro. He's in good company as an alumnus of the Met's 2007 National Council Auditions (same class with Angela Meade, Michael Fabiano, Amber Wagner and Alek Shrader).

    His singing was always on target though I thought his Donner a bit weak and Kurwenal most convincing. His Figaro was highly energetic and showed a decent comic touch. Very handsome guy.

    He's just fab isn't he? I first saw him as Acis in a superb Acis and Galatea at a small but rather wonderful opera festival at Iford Manor near Bath.

    Recently saw him in Wozzeck (Andres) in Vienna.
