[Opera Lively interview # 113] Opera Lively is engaged in detailed coverage of George Benjamin's phenomenal contemporary masterpiece
Written on Skin. This is our most intensive effort to date on the topic of contemporary opera, and it is well deserved given the absolutely unique high quality of this piece.
Continuing our series of articles on this opera that is arguably the best one composed in the last several decades, we are publishing a short interviews with one of the young singers who performed it at Tanglewood in the US premiere of the piece, conducted by George Benjamin himself.

We are writing a guidebook to this opera, a project that has the endorsement of the composer and the authorization of his publisher Faber Music to include the full text of the opera, as well as musical examples. Once this book is published, many fragments of our coverage including the interview below, will appear in print.
