Dear readers, we enjoyed so much our first exclusive interview with Isabel Leonard [OL interview # 131 - click (here) to read it]! Then, of course we had to ask for more, and the nice and personable singer obliged. Given that she has recently finished a Met run and is jumping right into another one, we collected her views on both roles. Isabel here talks about her recent Cherubino and her upcoming Rosina for the Met. Another motive for this follow-up interview is that the singer is releasing a Holidays CD. [Opera Lively interview # 131] On the occasion of her performance of Dorabella for the Metropolitan Opera's Così fan tutte in early May 2014 (see our review [here]), Opera Lively met in person the great American singer Isabel Leonard, for this interesting interview. We were particularly impressed with Isabel for her intelligence, friendliness, and solid demeanor. She is direct, straightforward, articulate, genuine, and strikes us as a very good and hardworking person. Given her beautiful voice, fabulous looks, and accomplished acting, this young lady certainly deserves the success her career has achieved. Our already significant admiration for her artistry grew even deeper after her charming interview, which we are pleased to share with our readers.
