    Big Mozart Box

What do people think? This looks like a pretty good deal. $1 for each box on Amazon.

    I think it is upsetting.

I LOVE giant multi CD sets! The bigger the better. Last year I got this:

and I have been enjoying it ever since.

Edit: whoops, I just saw that the boxes Tardis linked to are MP3s, not CDs. My bad.

The only big complete oeuvre one I have is the Brilliant Classics Mozart edition. I bought it because it was cheap and it had some recordings that I was interested in, which if I had bought separately, would have not made much economic sense.

I also other complete sets (e.g. Scarlatti sonatas) but those are performed by the one performer/group, which is a bit different to a large collection like the above featuring many different artists.

I like these MP3 sets personally. Most of my listening is on the go, so MP3s work for me. I own all three sets. I'm not a big Handel fan but ordered anyway, for the price. And I have found enough worth listening to that made the investment worthy. The Mozart and Beethoven sets are great. It is unfortunate to the general public that there is not a bit of opera in the Mozart set, but as someone who is buying up his operas seperately, it worked out fine for me.

The mp3 bitrate is high enough. The problem is that I've been around so blasted long that I have most of this music in good performances and decent sound. What I don't have is most of the operas in 'big name' performances. So... this deal is no deal.

    I can understand that!
