I'm still in mourning for my local Little Shop--the last storefront in town with a decent selection of classical CDs (at great used prices). They've been closed for months, and despite the continuing promise of the sign on the front door, it's looking more and more like they'll never reopen.

Still, it was good while it lasted. I bolstered my collection significantly buying their wares, as my posts here and in other threads have documented. Now I'm limited to online orders, at higher prices and a slower pace.

Oh well--the work goes on. Just ordered from Amazon.

I already have a version of the Brahms; got this mostly for the Schumann.

Nice haul. That Toscanini Beethoven Symphony Set is a great cycle. I have it among my many cycles and it is among my top three cycles (the other two being Monteaux and Zinman). The sound quality on that Toscanini set is pretty decent being it was recorded around 1950 vs his other much older cycle that many swear by. I'll stick with the 1950ish set!

And since I got it for a buck, I don't fear much buyer's remorse.

What an AWESOME DEAL! I know you are going to like the Toscanini, and the other two CDs are good stuff too!

Another one that was in my watch list on Ebay and popped up because it was ending soon, so I put in a bid and got it. Here are sound clips.
