This production and the story are totally awesome. I think this will move up to among my top dozen operas easliy! Kasarova and Kaufman! Fantastic!

Did anyone catch the Met Live in HD Rosenkavalier broadcast yesterday--Renée Fleming's final Marschallin, and Elīna Garanča's final Octavian? I listened on radio, but am curious how the performance went for those able to see it (and compared to the reviews, both here and elsewhere, from when the production premiered a month ago). Also wondering if--and hoping--there will be a DVD.

EDIT: Prina makes an awesome Queen Partenope.

All the talk about Ulisse on the 'Listening to' thread made me want to watch this again. I totally love this version.

Semiramide on Culturebox with Franco Fagioli. This is rapidly becoming one of Rossini's operas that I know best (with Barber, Cenerentola and and the wondrous Guillaume Tell)

This very funny Semele production (think Clinton Lewinsky) is an excellent example of an updating done well - coherent, consistent, engaging and not detracting from the plot at all. And a bonus: features lovely Ed Lyon, our "chicken in a basket" from the Troyens that Luiz, Annie and I saw in 2013. Highly recommended for lovers of baroque and inventive productions.

Foxie, or Not Quite the Cunning Little Vixen from La Monnaie. Not quite sure what that was all about, but as a result I focused on the score which really is enchanting.
