I heard Norah Amsellem live as Violetta last year, and she's wonderful.

Randomly searching for a La traviata I came across this and really enjoyed it.

What happens around 1:24:16? Looks like someone rips her heart out, later the clown is playing with the heart. Very strange. The whole thing is too strange for me. Although, probably very representative of the decadent society (brought up to a more recent time period) the opera is set in.

Gwyneth Jones as Brunnhilde is absolutely mind blowing in the scene where Gunther brings her home to be wed. Absolutely stunning performance! That is as far as I am, so I am sure there is much more great performance coming as this opera plays out.

Treated myself to this. Homework as I'm hoping to see this opera next year and I don't know it at all. Enjoying it so far.
