Those two singers made a memorable evening.
An absolute must see, Alcina from Aix with Patricia Petibon and Philippe Jaroussky, in a many-roomed production by Katie Mitchell that worked even better than for Written On Skin. It makes me realise that while there were many fine composers in the Baroque, Handel has the edge in conveying deep emotion. If nothing else watch Petibon singing Ah, mio cor (at 1.35.45). It had me weeping.

I didn't have any expectations about this but it is actually nice. Direction can be a bit unintentionally comic at times, but still thoroughly enjoyable.

Hello Festat!
Long time no err.. read post.
What's the weather like in São Paulo? It's the height of summer in the UK and temperature is a whopping 17°C.
Hey, Clayton! I'm always glad to be back.
We're having an unusually hot winter down here. We spent most of July between 12°C and 22°C, but since last week afternoons are really hot — it is now 15h and 27°C! At night the temperature drops suddenly to 14°C or 13°C, though. Dry as usual for winter time, not a single drop in the last two weeks, no clouds at all in the sky. At least we have nice starry nights, as much as the city lights allow anyway.
I have no memory anymore of what being cold feels like.
