Rameau Platée from 2010 conducted by Christophe Rousset. An inventive and zany updating that worked, and left you feeling very sorry for poor betrayed Platée, beautifully sung by , Emiliano Gonzalez Toro. Unfortunately like so many wonderful productions it has disappeared from YT and sunk without trace.

While I did the ironing this morning. Probably not the best version but I like it.

I'm not sure I buy the transition to 40s Franco Spain, Carlo Alvarez sings well but lacks sex appeal, IMO. But María Bayo is a wonderfully dignified and poignant Donna Anna (her tale of the near-rape is genuinely nail-biting) and José Bros manages to make Don Ottavio more than a milksop.

You can judge for yourself though:

Very unappealing Leporello. Zerlina is bland. Me not like.

Sure, sure, but did you like it? It's not very clear if you liked it.

Now, seriously: still pre-order for us. Will be released on 6/24/16.
