Very nice. I am wondering if these tickets were also cheaper than the Justin Bieber (?) concert...

I am want to attend both of these but maybe can only do one because they are so close in time (both in April 2018):

Tosca at the Michigan Opera Theatre.

Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo in concert performance at Hill Auditorium.
"Ah,non credea mirarti si presto estinto, o fiore." --Bellini, La Sonnambula (also written on his tomb).

So the girls will do anything for a meal; they will even go to an opera concert with mom!

Certainly a lot cheaper than standing space for Ed Sheeran and his little guitar.

If I had to choose one, I would go with the L'Orfeo, and I tend to like concert performances just fine. Geez, one can see Tosca just about anywhere...

16 September - new production of La bohème at ROH.

Wasn't really interested despite it being a new production but I have a friend who is just getting into opera and she wants to see everything. I remember that feeling so I indulge her, and it's a matinee so no overnight hotel needed.

If it helps the Mimi and Rodolfo were amazing in Onegin in 2015 (the one I keep going on about) if they are half as good as they were that night it shouldn't be half bad at all!
"Non sono in vena" Rodolfo summing up P.B's feelings on his dissertation.

Boheme is an interesting operatic phenomenon: I typically think to myself "oh no, not another Boheme". Then, grudgingly, I arrive at the opera house, only to find myself engrossed by the wonderful singing and music and, if really lucky, the Fellini; oops, I mean the Zeffirelli production will be on stage. I exit the opera house refreshed and with new respect for Puccini.
