I am really stepping into the land of weirdness with this one, but listening to the clips, I could not help buy a copy. Reminds me somewhat of Die Frau ohne Schatten.

What started innocently enough as reading a brief comic book format story of Joan of Arc (10 cents at library yesterday) leads to this, and I haven't purchased the DVD yet.

Any you can watch Nino Machaidze in Romeo and Juliet with Rolando Villazon, also an excellent production, and my first time with Rolando. His voice is magnificent! Another tenor to add to my top tenor list, which has few names on it yet (Kaufmann, Florez, Wunderlich, Wohlers).

Woo hoo! Amazon gift card! Gotta love Christmas! I found these two inexpensive box sets of Callas live performances.

The amazing thing is, though I already had twenty-six Callas opera recordings, only one of the performances above duplicates something I already have.

I also picked up another classic Callas live performance:

And just to prove I'm still *not* a Callas fanatic, I picked up these other classic sets:

By this point, of course, I was well over the gift card. But who cares--it's Christmas!

    Opening presents before Christmas day...

You don't have to prove you're not a Callas fanatic; just come out when you are ready and we'll all just accept you for who you are.

Please let me know what that Naxos recording is like!

No, seriously, I have it under control. And when I put on the dress, wig, and makeup, I really *do* look just like her!

Forgot to mention a purchase I made last week at my local Little Shop:

A tremendous, no-holds-barred live performance. I liked it so much, I used a Christmas Amazon gift card refund to order another Price/Corelli live classic.
