The curse of the Ring extends beyond the story. It seems the only way any of us who get hooked on the Ring is ever going to stop buying more Rings is that we have to die first. Well I haven't purchased a Ring since April of 2020, and since I don't want to die yet , here is my latest purchase.

I've referred to the "Levine Met Ring" always thinking about the late '80s/early '90s production with James Morris, Jerusalem, and Behrens. This is a needed reminder that, in fact, there are two "Levine Met" Ring cycle recordings available. (How could I have forgotten JK's Siegmund?? )

That second one is only half Levine. There was another conductor for 1 or 2 of the operas. But if you get only one Machine Ring opera, get the Walkure with JK. I have to get them all (have all but Rheingold) because Deborah Voigt is an awesome Brunnhilde, and Terfel is an awesome, if not unusual, Wotan.

I just ripped my 80/90 Levine DVD ring to mp3 files to listen to so I have Jerusalem as Siegfried. We'll see how it sounds. I did not cut all the applause, so may have to re rip a few parts. I don't mind applause on a live recording but in some parts it goes on for minutes.
