I think it is better cast than the previous ROH Ring. I was surprised that John Lundgren was cast as Wotan, where I think it maybe his house debut as I understood Terfel would do it one more time. I have never heard of Markus Butter who is playing Gunther and thought Markus Eiche would have doubled up with Donner like he did in Bayreuth. I see Emily Magee is doubling up as Sieglinde and Gutrune when it usually a Freia and Gutrune double up. Happy to see Sarah Connolly back. Would to have loved JK to be Siegmund but I think it is unlikely we'll ever see him in a staged Wagner opera in the UK. Have to admit I'm not as big a fan of Skelton as some others, although I have only ever heard sing roles in English at the ENO. Kranzle as Alberich should be interesting as well and of course Stemme as Brunnhilde will be great. Just a shame the production wasn't better.

I don't get to Holland Park enough but will certainly try and catch Ariadne.
I'm definitely interested in the the Ring cycle, though I'm not sure if it would be good for the wife so it could be a solo run...

Glyndebourne have announced their line up for 2018 and it looks very exciting.

Santa Fe announced their 2018 season. Looks like I'll be going for at least 3 years in a row!

Doctor Atomic will be performed for the first time a short drive away from where it takes place. Laurent Pelly directs Candide: promising! And Ariadne has a really great cast. L'Italiana in Algeri is a revival production that looks fun - Isabella is reimagined as an Amelia Earhart-era aviatrix.
Madame Butterfly is also a revival. It will probably be worth going to... or I might skip it and pretend like that's proof that I can exercise restraint when it comes to choosing what operas to go to.
More information.

This means that only people who can get home the same night or who can afford eight nights in a London hotel will be able to go.You may only buy tickets for all four dates within a cycle. It is not possible to buy a ticket for an individual performance, or to pick and choose dates from different cycles.
Eye watering prices
Makes you wonder what the management is thinking.
