Awesome! Release 1 Nov 2019. Watch the two videos in this link and you will be hooked. Especially the second video in the room where she is dying; very dramatic coughing and hacking giving an added dimension of reality.
Beautiful heavy soprano voice! Love it!

Neat. I'll consider buying it, I always like a new Traviata, I never tire of it.

I plan to order it today through Dearborn Music. Jaho is also in another production from 2014:
Ermonela Jaho (Violetta Valéry), Francesco Demuro (Alfredo Germont) & Vladimir Stoyanov (Giorgio Germont)
Orchestra, Chorus and Ballet of the Arena di Verona, Julian Kovatchev (conductor) & Hugo de Ana (stage director)

This will be the third DVD of Richard Eyre's production. I can't remember this happening before.

And I have both of them. Ah well, the staging is merely a backdrop. One of my favorite Traviata's is semi-staged.

Watching this preview video gives me mixed feelings about this production. I wish that they would have had Figaro dressed with sleeves. I really don't care to see anybody's tattoos, especially not if I am investing my time to watch an opera. I suppose if it comes up in the future for a bargain price I might give it a shot, but...

I'm surprised that an opera singer would get such prominent tattoos; it must restrict what roles he/she can do. A singer once told me he'd never get one for this reason.

Maybe the producer thought bare tattooed arms would attract the mythical 'yoof' audience.

Cecilia Bartoli has a new solo album that will soon be released, this one devoted to the castrato Farinelli.

I took one look at that cover photo and thought of the Austrian pop singer Conchita Wurst (a.k.a. Thomas Neuwirth).
