    Hello from London

    Hello everybody.

I've just joined this forum, having been directed to it by Florestan.

I've been an opera lover since my teens when I first discovered Callas, and she has remained my yardstick for opera ever since. In the debate on sound versus expresive use of sound I always come down on the latter, though I can still revel in the sheer aural pleasure of a beautiful voice.

I have a blog www.tsaraslondon.wordpress.com which concentrates mostly on opera. I've reviewed all the operas in the two Warner Callas boxes there and have recently started reviewing some of the voal recitals in my collection.

I look forward to some lively and interesting discussion.

    P

So many sopranos pay tribute to Maria Callas that she must be the standard of reference for sopranos. Here is an interesting video of one of my favorite singers paying tribute to Callas.

Hello Tsaraslondon and welcome to the forum!

I also like Callas and have the remastered Warner box set

Though most of my listening for the past few years have been somewhere around the eighteenth century, I'm all over the place really. I like all from late renaissance to the latest compositions.

London is a great place to be for opera lovers.
