I hope these can happen. That is an awesome list by the Berlin State Opera. I see 15 that I know and would love to go to all 15. Maybe more! Dreaming as I would have to live in Germany for the season!

Dallas Opera has cancelled all Fall performances, telescoping what will remain of their season into a March-April period in 2021. They have cancelled their most expensive production (Lohengrin), postponed another to a later season (Orfeo ed Euridice), moved a Fall performance to Spring with a new cast for scheduling reasons (Marriage of Figaro), and added concert performances of Don Carlo which was the first opera they had to cancel this year and was already rehearsed so it will not cost so much.

A bit sad, but I think they've taken decisive action early and will be able to save more money and survive. The Met has already done the same, and I think we're going to hear from a lot of other companies doing similar things soon.

The Cincinnati Opera (https://www.cincinnatiopera.org/2021) has announced plans for the 2021 summer season, though at this point, there are no specifics beyond a list of scheduled operas and dates.

    - Rossini: Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Music Hall)
    16, 18 June 2021

    - Bizet: Carmen (Music Hall)
    1, 8, 10, 11 (matinée) July 2021

    - Gregory Spears: Castor and Patience (World premiere; Corbett Auditorium, School for the Creative and Performing Arts)
    9, 13, 15, 17, 18 (matinée) July 2021

    - Puccini: Tosca (Music Hall)
    22, 24, 25 (matinée) July 2021

The season will also include William Menefield’s Fierce, an opera with a libretto by Sheila Williams that tells the stories of teenage girls from Cincinnati who worked with Ms. Williams on the text. Performances will take place in the SCPA’s Mayerson Theater. Like Castor and Patience, it was originally scheduled to premiere this past summer.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that by June of next year, there will be a COVID-19 vaccine and we’ll all have been vaccinated. Right now, estimates as to when that will occur have varied widely – anywhere from end of this year/early next year to a year from now.
