Have you all watched this today? I did not watch it all because my son called me in the middle of it for Father's Day and we had such a long chat that I missed half of it... but the parts I did watch were excellent.
Unlike the recent Met online gala, they chose to broadcast directly from each opera house (8 of them); just, those glorious edifices had no public.
The best was the Dutch National Opera part, a long stretch of various numbers by Eva-Maria Westbroek and Thomas Oliemans who is not only an excellent baritone, but also plays the piano very well. The Royal Swedish Opera was great too, featuring the sublime Nina Stemme.
I want to see later the parts I missed.
