well I only say adult because for some strange reason the CD has a symbol that looks like a guidance rating on the back
or does this mean something else?
Whatever.
It is a thrilling opera and performance.

Yes, I watched two of them on culture box - read my post in the "watching" thread: http://operalively.com/forums/showth...ll=1#post48057
There is also The Miserly Knight which I am still waiting to watch.

Many congratulations to your brother. To be able to chat with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg about opera, now that is super cool!
Is your brother (or are you) going to this?
"Every theatre is an insane asylum, but an opera theatre is the ward for the incurables."
FRANZ SCHALK, attributed, Losing the Plot in Opera: Myths and Secrets of the World's Great Operas
I started out this morning thinking I would listen to Otello, but I'm kind of bored with the one recording I have. When I went to turn on the ol' iPod for my walk, I got completely distracted and decided I hadn't listened to Macbeth in at least a week, so gave this another shot:
This actually is a wonderful recording. I still give preference to Gardelli/Suliotis (even though critics consider her a disaster, I find her thrilling). Maybe all my walking in the city and listening to all those sirens really have taken a toll...
So, just to clarify, that is your brother in law in law?

For the walk yesterday:
(This doesn't translate as "Lady in Cement", I hope..)
I think no walk today. I overslept this am, so unable to get out before sun gets too high. At 8:50 am it's already 82F/27C with 70% humidity. I walked 9 miles yesterday morning and thought I wasn't going to make it - very, very glad when I got home. I'm having to re-think my maniacal walking habit over the coming summer months.
Typical DC summer weather. We got off easy last year.
