I hate when that happens, and, they never apologize. Jeez.

Not one of Bellini's best, but still is occasionally diverting.

For some reason I feel a bit meh about this recording. The opera is OK but didn't grab me (maybe I should watch my DVD again). The singers do a good job but I couldn't get excited about them either.

Mayr Rediscovered - got interested in this composer after watching the excellent DVD of Medea in Corinto with Nadja Michael.

What do you think of the Mayr recording? I know his name, but am totally unfamiliar with his music. Is it worth a go?

I agree 100%. I've tried listening on a couple of occasions, but the music isn't interesting and so, the recording: (decidedly) meh.
Well, I am listening to clips from a different production (Norman and Gedda) of this opera and like it. Probably not one I would listen to as much, but nice. It may be that I like sung German (Martha and Fidelio are wonderful). Fact is, I am probably going to have to buy a copy of this someday not that your posts got me curious, I seem to be getting hooked. Going to try to hold off as my CD/DVD budget is down to rock bottom. Gotta replenish it.
