Today's walk was a little shorter than usual to allow myself to catch up after a couple of days off for a medical procedure and prep (all went well).
So, something with a little pep was in order:

Writing an essay so as always back to Puccini. While at first I was not a massive fan of it Butterfly does grow on you as time goes on and definitely provides a good background to writing about Mercosur and whether it is a comparative failure (or success) when analysed through realist perspectives (excitement and adventure on my course!).

As it turns out the essay was a long one that i am still working on. Tosca helps once again!

Verdi's Macbeth - a work that took me a while to enjoy. I've got in on vinyl (a Met performance with Bergonzi, Warren, Rysanack, et al). It was one of Warren's last recorded performances before he died on stage of a heart attack. He might be my favorite baritone.
Been less than a month since I last heard Rigoletto in full but I have been chewing up my favourites the last few days while doing my essay (I now know more about Mercosur than any person really needs to) hence a return to the classic recording.
As with all operas once I found a recording that ticks all the boxes I tend to be reluctant to purchase a new one.
