No dialog and starts with Leonore #2 overture. Has Fidelio and Leonore #1 and #3 overtures at end.
Since that night at the Polka, I don't understand you, Sheriff.

    Adès: The Tempest
Simon Keenlyside (Prospero), Kate Royal (Miranda), Toby Spence (Ferdinand), Ian Bostridge (Caliban), Cyndia Sieden (Ariel), Philip Langridge (Alonso), Donald Kaasch (Antonio), Jonathan Summers (Sebastian), David Condier (Trinculo), Stephen Richardson (Stefano), Graeme Danby (Gonzalo)
The Chorus and Orchestra of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Thomas Adès
Live recording March 2007 ROH Covent Garden

First hearing, got a bit lost trying to read text and listen to the music. Not entirely succesful on either front (struggle with reading at the best of times), the hayfever tablets probably didn't help.

I think this is one to see rather than just hear.

I'm not so familiar with Cosi

    (Festat screams)

I have the Jacobs but have only listened to it once or twice

    (Festat screams again)

I think I'll bump it up the listening pile

(Festat lets out a sigh of relief)

Surprisingly, I haven't listened to Così in months. And even though I can recite the libretto backwards, whenever I come back to it after some time I'm genuinely astonished that is is even better than I remembered!

The old Met radio broadcast traveling across the decades through a mist of hiss and pops. But the voices of Melchior and Flagstad, even partly shrouded, still emerging golden-toned and glorious.

suffering from too unstable interweb connection to post much but amongst the usual suspects,

    Cosi (Jacobs)
    Rinaldo (Jacobs)
    Esther (John Butt, Dunedin consort)
    Samson (Nicholas McGegan)

and now on one of the usual suspects...

    the Solti one

hope to be back soon with a better interweb connection
