Actual footage of me listening to Rameau.
Given the latest developments in Brazil's politics I'm deep into my self-alienation program in order to keep living as sane as possible. It consists basically in uninterruptedly alternating between opera, nature documentaries — cute, David Attenborough-ish ones, not the ones that remind me how we're screwing everything up — and reality television so that I don't have the time to read the news.

Continuing with the Verdi/Amfortas purchase theme, I was listening to another "Aida". At the time of purchase, I was looking for the Gardelli but then (and so I'll guess now as well) it was very difficult to find unless I traded one of my kidneys for a copy. So all the more congratulations to Amfortas for his bargain finds.
Verdi: Attila
Samuel Ramey (Attila), Cheryl Studer (Odabella), Giorgio Zancanaro (Ezio), Neil Shicoff (Foresto), Ernesto Gavazzi (Uldino), Giorgio Surian (Leone)
Coro del Teatro alla Scala, Milano & Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala, Milano, Riccardo Muti
Unfamiliar with other works I can not make comparisons but this is dramatic and it has Samuel Ramey...
