Recorded April 2015 Théâtre de Poissy, a live recording but with modern recording technology you can't really tell the difference from a studio recording for sound quality, only the dynamics of character interaction might make you suspect...

EDIT: This Viaggio a Reims does not have the greatest sound quality. I read that Abbado did a live recording with the Berlin Philharmonic that has much better sound quality. Also features Cheryl Studer. I might have to get a copy. My set was $2 at a resale and was missing the booklet/libretto. I need a libretto or to watch a video to better appreciate this opera. Video selections seem few.

I'm listening at home for a couple of days due to omni-present rain. I'm not complaining as the mid-atlantic has had very dry conditions for some months - and, a break from my near obsessive walking...
Anyway, yesterday's listen was:
This Opera Rara recording from 1988 features - to me - an unknown cast. The soprano voice(s) handled the high notes rather well, if with somewhat unpleasant timbres. The guys are quite good and there is plenty for them to sing. On the whole surprisingly good opera I didn't know - had barely even heard of - and like well enough to consider buying a ticket to next summer's performance at the Glimmerglass festival. Even if I am mad at Francesca Zambello...
