I do like the Solti too.
Because I love it so much I decided to get the 1857 (original) version as well. I was very disappointed and if I had heard this version first, I don't think the opera would have had the same effect on me and I would have probably put it back on the shelf to gather dust.
Although it’s on YouTube, I’ve been listening to rather than watching this 2005 performance of Rigoletto from the Zürich Opera; there are no visuals aside from this photo of Jonas Kaufmann, which is not from Rigoletto, but Lohengrin at La Scala (or possibly the production’s reappearance in Paris this past January). He sings the Duke in Rigoletto, with Leo Nucci as the jester and Elena Moşuc as Gilda. Sound isn’t the greatest, but the cast is marvelous.

What a beautiful opera!
One big thing going for the set you posted is Fiorenza Cossotto! I am not familiar with that opera though, and opted for Mascagni's happy ending opera, L'amico Fritz, which to me is a beautiful opera.

I have L'amico Fritz as wellI've listened once and had a favorable impression though I do not know it well. I'll have to listen again soon. Which recording do you have? I have the one with Mirella Freni and Pavarotti.

The Freni /Pavarotti is a fine recording of L'amico Fritz. Of course I went overboard and bought several recordings. I have these:I have L'amico Fritz as well
Freni/Pavaroti (pretty good sound)
Pacetti/Ballo (pretty good sound)
ALgana/ Gheorghiu (this one is the best sound)
Tavaglini/ Tassinari (this one not as good of sound, but as I recall it is sung by husband/wife team and conducted by the composer himself)
But you want to get the DVD, of which there is only one and Theodossiou is not quite young looking enough, but it is beautifully executed and I love the gypsy (Sandra Pacheco-Quintero) in this (Back Cover Image for full Cast):

It's Ok but at 1 CD very expensive. I really only loved it for Michael Spyres's solo aria.

Susanna Anselmi sings Ptolomy on this. She sounds somewhat like Sonia Prina.
