I missed that you actually were talking about two different recordings, but now I find there is a second Serafin with Callas.
I've gotten to know Donizetti's Lucia Di Lammermoor pretty well, with Beverly Sills' wonderful interpretation. Today for the first time I am giving Callas' rendition a try:
(Conducted by Serafin, with Rolando Panerai and eugenio fernandi)

"Music is enought for a whole lifetime--but a lifetime is not enough for music." --Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff
Saw this opera live about 35 years ago and only remember the triumphal march.
This is the first time I have listened since then.

I am right now listening to Puccini's Tosca from my Puccini's Great Operas set.
I am very much enjoying the performance, with Renata Tebaldi, Mario Del Monaco and Francesco Molinari-Pradelli

Started this mid week and am now into Twilight of the Gods. This is my 4th listen to this Ring in the past several weeks and I am loving it. I do think this is my absolute favorite Ring.

Another day, another Lucia Di Lammermoor
Anna Moffo, Carlo Bergonzi, Mario Sereni, Ezio Flagello
conducted by Georges Pretre
Beverly is still my favorite Lucia, and I sorely miss the glass harmonica, but it is still a great recording.
