Between Sills, Caballe, and Gheorghiu, I am sticking with Gheorghiu as my favorite so far.

A totally awesome Traviata recording here (just arrived today). This one rates a permanent place on my MP3 player along with Gheorghiu. No others that I have listened to rate (for me) highly enough for continued listening (Caballe, Sills, Netrebko).

Zubin Mehta; Orchestra and Chorus of RAI, Rome
Sesto Bruscantini, Teresa Stratas, Sena Jurinac, Mario Petri, Teresa Berganza, Nucci Condò, Giorgio Tadeo, Agostino Lazzari, Lilia Reyes, et. al.
The local opera season here will begin in mid-June, with Le Nozze di Figaro the first production.
Both quite good. Arrived yesterday. My initial reaction is that I still hold Gheorghiu at the top, followed by de los Angeles, then these two. Beyond that I did not find Sills or Caballe that exciting.

Have you listened to the OL favourite recording (well, what was the favourite six years or so ago when we did the poll) by Kleiber?

I don't think you'll be disappointed -- Cotrubas is an incredibly touching Violetta, and Domingo and Milnes aren't exactly small potatoes, either.
Live Moffo set is better IMO than the studio set below. I still rate Gheorghiu #1, followed by de los Angeles, then Moffo live. Moffo studio, Caballe, and Sills are farther down the list.
Callas and Studer coming next week. Meanwhile, This one I just acquired is up next!
