Lucia Aliberti has been accused of sounding like Callas. I don't find that here.

This IMO is the best sound of the several Scotto CD sets.

I have somewhat of a love/hate relationship with this recording. The singing is wonderful, but for some reason, Cecilia Bartoli does not fit the image of Amina who I perceive to be a young, delicate, naive girl. None of which comes through in Cecilia's voice.

Way better on DVD because of the awesome acting of Philippe Rouillon, but nice to have the soundtrack.

Listened to several operas and ended up here. Tristan is an awesome opera. I prefer the Barenboim set over the other.

As beautiful as Domingo's voice is, I find his unidiomatic German pronunciation to be a stumbling block in this repertoire.

Fingers crossed that Jonas Kaufmann eventually records the role of Tristan.
