I stole huge sack of Don Giovannis recently and this is the one of them, listened today:
Great HIP recording, including original approach to tempis (slow Fin ch'han dal vino, it works, would you belive) and intense guest stone scene.

Fantastic!!!
Luisa Miller has some very cool music. As gaston (jhar26) warned the DVD sound is not very good, apparently there was an anti-Scotto pro-Callas claque who did some vociferous booing which has been cleaned out, which might explain this. Scotto was transcendent in this role, so moving. Milnes sounded lovely as ever and Domingo managed to overcome the issue of a Very Silly Wig to sound impassioned and gorgeous. Only the mezzo disappointed, very wobbly. The CD naturally has better sound but I prefer the DVD.

Two excellent Handel recitals. Xavier Sabata another exciting counter-tenor on the block. Purves sounds best in the more lyrical arias.

I may agree that it's not music of extraordinary quality, but where I managed to find something to be excited about is the fact that it's another Polish opera from early XIXth century - there are few of them on record. Even if this one isn't the best among them, it's still good to have such addition to the narrow group.
And for the composer himself in general, I'd say that one can find much more than standard romantic stuff among his works, for example this unusual and highly enjoyable symphony, rediscovered recently (just like Monbar):
