Britten's War Requiem Live in Auckland, Auckland Philharmonia, Eckehard Stier CONDUCTOR, Orla Boylan SOPRANO, Timothy Robinson TENOR, Ivan Ludlow BARITONE, Voices New Zealand Chamber Choir, New Zealand Youth Choir.

This was absolutely outstanding, a masterly performance, incredibly moving and engaging. I'm still reeling from the effect of it.

I like how Abbado gathers superb cast, prepares great performance and then they all go to studio to ruin it with awful, singers-drowning sound and release the effect on CD.

Here and on his Simon Boccanegra with Carreras, Freni and Cappuccilli.

But thinking about it again, I think what I like more is Lucia Valentini Terrani as Eboli, Ricciarelli as Elisabeth and Leo Nucci as Posa.

What I don't like at all is that I can't recall other studio Don Carlo with these singers doing these roles.

The thing I like less than the one above over above and more than above is Domingo sounding great until he goes high. So-so Carlo, if you're spoiled man of XXIst century dumb enough to refer as so-so to great performance only because there are two other superb tenors that you consider even greater Carlos.

Elina Garanca's recital in Oviedo recorded from audience by someone nicknamed @lm@viv@. Och, wait, that's the admin guy from Flórezidos. He betrayed Flórez by recording and publishing bootlegs of other singers while NOT doing the same with Flórez recitals. I think. I shall write to autorities so they can remove him from his position and put me on his place, High Priest of Zanzarone Order.

As for the Garanca recital, my favorite part was Mozart aria "Alma Grande e Cough Cough Core" .

Finally received my anniversary issue of Krauss Ring.
This a beautiful edition with 4 beautifully done libretti books and an intro book
    about this Ring.
the sound sounds pretty good to me.
so far have only listened to Rheingold.
but this is really an awesome Ring so far.

These Cetra reissues from Warner Classics are really nice, with miniature reproductions of the original artwork. The mono sound is perfectly satisfactory to my ears. I'd like to order more of these.
