Oh yeah - Although I haven't listened to them yet - but, for what it's worth, here's what else (besides some old rock recordings) was in the box:
Tristan und Isolde Böhm/Nilsson/Windgassen/Ludwig/Talvela - Bayreuther Festspiele 1966
Don Carlo Solti/Bergonzi/Tebaldi/Ghiaurov/Fischer-Dieskau/Bumbry - Orchestra and Chorus of the ROH, Covent Garden
Lakme Bonynge/Sutherland/Vanzo/Bacquier - Orchestre National de l'Opera de Monte-Carlo
Der Rosenkavalier Bernstein/Ludwig/Gwyneth Jones/Walter Berry/Popp/Domingo - Vienna Philharmonic
and
Beethoven: 5 Piano Concertos Alfred Brendel with Chicago Symphony Orchestra and James Levine

Getting ready for the start of the local opera season in a few weeks . . .
I haven't posted in a while due to:
1. Computer Crashed!
2. The end of the school year/chaos!
3. I haven't been listening to much opera lately. Gasp!
Perhaps this will serve as a start upon the right track once again.

Arthur Sullivan - Cox and Box; or, The Long-Lost Brothers
Libretto by F. C. Burnand, based on the 1847 farce "Box and Cox" by John Maddison Morton.
I was quite pleasantly surprised by Dessi and Armiliato in this - they mostly coped quite well, although Dessi was a little disappointing in her Act Five big aria. Overall I think it's the best Tutto Verdi I've seen so far - loved the way the staging extended into the audience.
I then watched them in La Forza del Destino streaming on Arte TV - not very impressed by this one. http://liveweb.arte.tv/fr/video/La_F...l_de_Wallonie/
Much better for an online experience was this lovely Onegin with Vladimir Chernov. Another reason to love the baritone voice! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzKNU95bjOM

I have this as a "possible" buy, PL Pizzi production a big plus.....price as usual for this series extremely high, not much choice for this opera in video format, I have the Muti La Scala series I Vespri with Cheryl Studer now.
Still waiting for Aida release from this series, the preview disc looked very good....
I finally got the chance to sit down and listen to this. Wow. Really Outstanding - I don't know if it is the best Meistersinger recorded, but DA is right on the money (so to speak) on this. There isn't a weak voice in the cast, and Gundula Janowitz (Eva) is just meltingly good. Jaw-dropping.
This is utterly gorgeous, in a beautifully restored working Baroque Theatre, and a fun production with lovely young singers, Buy buy buy.
I needed something relaxing after watching the Royal Opera House Ring on Youtube.

Very nice. I like the fact that the orchestra musicians are wearing wigs. I'll buy it, thanks for the tip.
