Here is our third exclusive interview with Isabel Leonard. I particularly like this interview for her advanced insights into Pélleas et Mélisande, one of my favorite operas. She also spoke about her latest CD which is great (I got it, and it is beautiful), two other roles in Marnie and Cold Mountain, and a couple of other personal and professional details. It's a great interview, Isabel is very intelligent.

We interviewed the young tenor David Blalock, who is singing Nemorino for Piedmont Opera. His answers are quite interesting, not only for those with the local interest of being at driver distance from Winston-Salem, NC, were Piedmont Opera performs, but also for those who like this piece by Donizetti.

These four Opera Lively mini-interviews for Piedmont Opera's new production of Maria Stuarda which opens in two days on 10/18/19, have more than regional interest, especially due to Jodi Burns' passionate answers about her title character. Very insightful. Don't miss Jodi's answers!

This review contains a link to the two mini-interviews with the principal singers for Opera Carolina's new production of Macbeth (the show was beautiful!). Don't miss Mark Rucker's last answer, about how he was poached from American Football into singing; it's fascinating.

We have a newly published interview on the Home page, which is not that new (it was done in July of 2018) but is very interesting, especially in regards to Baroque opera: Stéphanie d'Oustrac, a French mezzo I very much admire.
