New Opera Lively exclusive in-person interview: gifted bel canto tenor Lawrence (Larry) Brownlee.

    http://operalively.com/forums/conten...rence-Brownlee

This article is just the tip of the iceberg, because we have precisely nine times as much material from the Larry Brownlee events we've attended in Asheville, NC - including the full recording of a lecture he delivered, and more than two hours of masterclasses with four student singers. We'll be transcribing later this material, and summarizing his interesting statements during the masterclasses about operatic singing (these are very insightful and educational). We'll be adding as well to this relatively short exclusive interview, some answers to questions we had planned to ask but he fully addressed during his lecture; so in the interest of saving time given that the singer had to go for his scheduled rehearsal for a recital, we skipped in our exclusive interview the questions he had already answered through his lecture. Also, after his lecture, there was a Q&A session, and Opera Lively inserted there some more questions.

Therefore, this interview will grow in the near future, but it is already enjoyable as it is.

Once it gets supplemented, I'll announce here the added questions (will highlight them in a different color so readers will be able to just go back for those).

Just a teaser - Opera Lively has conducted already a number of very interesting in-person interviews, which are still pending transcription.

These are: Frederica von Stade, Jessica Pratt (a stunning young Australian soprano whose career is developing very well in Europe), Diana Damrau, maestro Marco Armiliato, and Eva-Maria Westbroek. Stay tuned in the next few weeks to read these pieces.

New exclusive interview with Grande Dame of opera Ms. Frederica von Stade, a.k.a. "Flicka"

This long and compelling talk with the veteran singers with 40 years of career and 119 recordings is not to be missed, and is one of the best Opera Lively interviews to date.

Oops, there was a problem with the permissions for our last two interviews so nobody was able to read them. It's been fixed. Please try again.

We have a new interview on the Home page, with emerging soprano Jessica Pratt. I liked quite a lot what she had to say; it is courageous and unique. Don't miss this one.

The permissions for Jessica's interview were mistakenly denying access; hopefully it's been fixed, please try again.

I can't figure out what is wrong with the permissions for Lisette Oropesa's interview.
The site is requiring registration to read the interview. The permissions are exactly the same as those for other interviews that are perfectly able to be read by guests. I tried everything I know to fix the problem and couldn't. The interview posted the same day with Mark is perfectly accessible and Lisette's isn't. I have submitted a ticket for tech support to figure out what is wrong with the article, and apologize to Lisette Oropesa's fans if they try to read it and are denied permission.

    Edit - it's been fixed.

Oh boy, those among you who like Wagner will love the next interview. It's been transcribed, and Greer Grimsley who last sang Wotan at the Met in the latest Ring cycle, has a lot of interesting things to say about Wagner characters. I've sent it to the singer for review, so, hang on and you'll be treated to it.
