Yes, and you will see I ordered a copy--posted in the "What opera have you purchased recently?" thread. How could I resist for $11 shipped?

I am also entranced because Philippe Rouillon is a dead ringer for his historical character.

Another problem is that she stabs him in the abdomen. I thought it had to be to the heart. The abdomen stab will take him down, but results in a slow and nasty death. And in the end she just disappears between two parts of the tilted buildings instead of actually jumping off to her death. Well there may be a reason you can pick this one up on Amazon for $2.95 used.

Not quite an opera but a great performance with some wonderful singing and an unusual but memorable Orlofsky. It is a personal favourite of mine.

Ohhhhhh! That is a wonderful looking Fidelio. I take it that cannot be had on DVD with subs, but I know it well enough to watch without subs. Wow. I am thrilled. Will have to watch with my son. Thanks so very much!

That's what he said himself and is why he is taking on roles like the Duke and Arnold in Guillaume Tell.

Bad for those of those among us who are Bel Canto fans but great news for those among us who are fond of Florez and would like to see him in some of these more heavier roles (which amazingly he still looks young enough to pull off extremely convincingly!).
